I have always loved animals.. I don't ever remember a time when I didn't have pets. As a child, I always had a Parakeet and a dog. I remember setting up an "animal" hospital with my girlfriends, where we kept everything from flies to bees, caterpillars to snakes, and of course, rescued baby birds. |
||
|
As a mom, my children and I have run the gauntlet with everything from little mice to rabbits and dogs to cats. The most exotic pet we had was a Squirrel Monkey named Cecil! But, through all this my most favorite was birds. They fascinated me and for years, I contented myself with wild birds, keeping many, many feeders and birdhouses in my yard. I was a card-carrying member of the Chicago Ornithological Society and participated in bird watching outings and hikes. |

Then one day, several years ago, I found a lonely little Cockatiel, at of all places, a flea market. Then I was hooked! One led to two, and on and on.. I became passionate about breeding and caring for my little angels. I've expanded into beautiful blue and green Quakers, which I have found to be the most delightful of creatures. As nurse, my babies health and happiness come first. Of course all are loved and spoiled with the best of everything! |
